8w6d: Raspberry

How far along? 8 weeks, 6 days
Maternity clothes: Not yet, but rubber-band ready for after a big meal!
Stretch marks: None yet...trying to use the cream nightly that was a gift from a sweet friend.
Sleep: Depends on the day. Probably go to bed way too late for a preggers, but it's the only time I get to see Daniel.
Best moment this week: Belly laughing with Daniel as he wakes the baby in my belly up in the morning, as if I can't hear him say "GOOOOOD MORNING BABY!!!"
Miss Anything: Wine, and diet coke
Movement: Nothing yet, too early
Symptoms:  Strange cravings at different times of the day; Headaches; and very sore ta-ta's
Food cravings: Milkshakes or smoothies!
Anything making you queasy or sick: I HATE MORNING SICKNESS!  Cigarette smoke is the biggest trigger...and yes, I will puke on your shoes if you blow it my way.
Have you started to show yet:  Nothing yet too crazy.  Food belly mainly.
Gender:  No idea yet...love to listen to Daniel's predictions after reading old wives tales on the internet
Labor Signs:  No, unless my crazy dreams count!
Belly Button in or out?:  In still....very IN!
Wedding rigns on or off: On still; not sure how I'm going to handle taking these babies off
General Mood:  Good, except when I get sleepy or h"angry"
Best advice this week:  Came from my co-worker, who is 20 weeks ahead of me.  She gave me some good questions to ask the doctor at our next appointment!
Worst advice this week:  None yet, but I'm sure it will be coming!
Exercise:  Some walking since the weather is so pretty.  Too tired after work to do much else these days.
Looking forward to:  This journey with Daniel; Telling everyone our good news (soon!)

7w3d: First Appointment

Our first appointment (other than the blood test confirmation) was eventful and exciting.  It's difficult at times to remember you are even pregnant sometimes, but there I was....7 weeks, 3 days.  Not only was it so difficult not to tell anyone (eh um, my mother) what we were doing when we couldn't answer the phone, but the appointment itself took about two hours.

First up, pee in a cup.  Better get used to this!

Second, head to the ultra sound room to check out our bundle and the heartbeat.  I could not have been more excited for this part!  Daniel got a little worried when the tech pulled out a "magic wand" to do the screening, but then we heard it....that sweet sweet sound beating at a healthy 165 bpm.  AMAZING!  It was truly magical!  We could distinguish the head and arm.  Just as I was getting teary-eyed...the tech said she needed a good picture of my ovaries since I was suffering from PCOS (lots of tiny cysts floating around up in there!).  This was a bit painful, so I squeezed my dear husbands hand with all my might and let out a big "OUCH!".  She expected it; Daniel didn't....and down he went with zero blood left in his face.  I then held the wand while the tech assisted him to a chair and gave him some juice.  No appointment would be complete without my adorable "manly" husband fainting the moment I am inflicted with any pain.  So sweet.  Check out a picture of our little one!

Next, ask doc a million questions and get all of the information possible.  I'm supposed to see a different doctor every time I go, so I can get used to everyone in the practice just in case my "preferred" is not available when the big moment happens this fall.  For this appointment, hubs and I were a bit disappointed with our doctor.  She waved off a few of my questions, and didn't really seem to grasp how excited we are about our first pregnancy.  Nonetheless, we got the information, and on the same token, formed a "decision" collectively that we PRAY TO THE BABY GODS we do not deliver when she is on call.

Finally, the blood work.  All 12 tubes to check my levels and for anything else that could go wrong.  For this part....Daniel got wise and turned his head (and didn't hold my hand to feel it squeeze!).

Can't wait for the next appointment at 12 weeks.  Stay tuned!

The Daddy Reveal

After getting to the office, completely too distracted to focus on the case lists piling up on my desk, I scanned the internet (LOVE you pinterest...you never let me down!) to find the cutest way to tell Daniel the big news when he got home from work.  I ended up making a timeline of our life big events so far.  It had things like....

August 21, 2005
We had our last first kiss on the steps of Aigler after walking and talking all night.
It might not have been magic the first time, but luckily,
we both wanted to give it another try.

August 21, 2010
We said our vows in front of family and friends.  It was the most wonderful day
of my life thus far.  I was so happy to make you my husband.  The honeymoon was also the perfect ending to a beautiful wedding planning year.

I made cute little pictures above each big event, and included about ten since the day we met.  On the last page, I put this picture and description:

This picture is the first to include three.  You may not see it at first, but your face
will be priceless when it hits you.

We welcome baby Rambo (unless I have my way), he/she will join our world and change everything we ever knew about love.  I’m so excited to watch our family grow.  You will be the best father in the entire world.  I love you with my whole heart!!

Here's what the whole thing looked like...

He really couldn't believe it.  He cracked up and just repeated over and over, "shut up! you're kidding me babe!!"  He was elated and overjoyed.  It couldn't be any more "wrong" timing because he will be in the beginning of wrestling season when this bundle is delivered, but we couldn't be more excited!  We promised each other to keep it our secret for the next few weeks so I could go to the doctor...and so we could both have a chance to wrap our head's hearts around this whole new, wonderful thing!
